The scandal-plagued Sydney-based migration agents lobby group, the MIA, is embroiled in yet another act of scullduggery, as noted by the VISA REPORT’s latest exposé.
The stench of corruption and bad faith hangs about the MIA Board like the funk that rents the air near a rotting corpse.
The MIA Board recently changed their rules regarding the awarding of their “Fellow of the MIA” the so called FMIA.
There is a member of that board – that is the Sydney based migration agent’s lobby group know as the MIA Board.
Who in her Linked In page she describes herself as a Migration Specialist.
She is neither an Australia Lawyer nor an accredited specialist!
Despite this migration agent and the board she sits on recently changed the rules to awarded her a Fellow of the MIA – FMIA.
The rules for years where: (until recently changed by this board member and her cronies on the board)
To be eligible for the award of Fellow of the MIA:
- Candidate must complete the Masters of Migration Law degree and
- Hold an Australian Law Degree.
The New rules state:
2.3 An individual may be admitted as a Fellow if that individual:
(a) has demonstrated by conduct and service a commitment to the aims of the Institute; and
(i) has met the qualifying criteria as set by the Board; be admitted as a Fellow.
So the rules are changed by a member of the board – who then benefits from the change…
That is corruption!
This migration agent holds neither a law degree nor a Master of Migration Law, consequently the MIA board recently changed the rules and – in true TRUMP fashion – it is now just a discretionary grant with no oversight or process – a gift from the MIA kings!
So much for the egalitarian communal new spirit of the MIA.
Is that fair to members – is that open and honest?
Or is it corrupt and self serving?
When you have had enough of the corruption, the cronyism – the job the boys and favouritism move up to better.
Stop paying huge fees so the Members of the board can line their own pockets with lurks and awards.
