The Victorian Immigration Solicitors’ Alliance: VISA is an Australian wide professional association of Migration Professional and those who wish to protect the Rule of Law and promote human rights. Our membership criteria philosophy is set to enhance both the individual members experience and interaction with other members and the level of expertise and professionalism we bring to our advocacy role.
True we have a focus on Refugee & Immigration law, however through our fantastic Corporate Partners VISA has much to offer All Lawyers: Particularly Free and Discount CPDs.
Put simply we are a community of highly skilled Migration, Legal and Ancillary Professionals who share a common set of goals; including the fostering of a greater appreciation within the wider society and Government of the valuable role Legal Practitioners: Solicitors & Barristers – “Immigration Lawyers”, more than any other group, bring to the administration of justice and the rule of law within the Australian Migration System.

Types of VISA Membership
The VISA offers a range of different membership options depending on your circumstances – including:
1) Member: M.VISA
This membership type is open to any “professional person” or student who has practiced or is studying in their chosen field and has a real and genuine interest in Australia Migration or Refugee Law.
NB. “Professional person” is at the complete discretion of the VISA. Victorian Immigration Solicitors’ Alliance’s Advisory Committee and its decision will be final.
A Member of the Victorian Immigration Solicitors Alliance is entitled to use the letter – M.VISA. after their name.
2) Senior Member: SM.VISA
This membership type is reserved for a professional person of at least 10 years standing with significant experience or knowledge in their field.
This class receives special benefits including priority seating at the “VISA Immigration Conference” and discount ticket prices for the “VISA Immigration Conference”.
NB. The award of the title Senior Member is at the discretion of Victorian Immigration Solicitors’ Alliance’s Advisory Committee and its decision will be final.
A Senior Member of the Victorian Immigration Solicitors Alliance is entitled to use the letter – SM.VISA. after their name.
3) Fellow of VISA: F.VISA
This is a discretionary award: to qualify the applicant must hold a valid legal practicing certificate form an Australia Jurisdiction and have practiced Law for at least 10 years.
This award is at the discretion of the Victorian Immigration Solicitors’ Alliance’s Advisory Committee and its decision will be final.
A Fellow of the Victorian Immigration Solicitors Alliance is entitled to use the letter – F.VISA. after their name.
4) Senior Fellow of VISA: SF.VISA
This is a discretionary award: to qualify the applicant must be a Fellow of VISA and have practiced almost exclusively in the field of Australian Immigration Law for at least 20 years.
This award is at the discretion of the Victorian Immigration Solicitors’ Alliance’s Advisory Committee and its decision will be final.
A Senior Fellow of the Victorian Immigration Solicitors Alliance is entitled to use the letter – SF.VISA. after their name.
How Do I Become a Member of VISA?
Review our “types of Memberships” to determine which level of membership is right for you.
All VISA members must meet strict requirements, complete the application and pay the fee, probity checks may then carried out and applications are then referred for consideration. Final membership approval confirmed with the granting of a “Certificate of Membership”.
Membership entitles the member to access to the “Members only” section of the VISA: Victorian Immigration Solicitors’ Alliance Pty Ltd webpage.
To all “Members’ Benefits” offer by VISA corporate partners.
Members of VISA may use the letter appropriate to their membership level.
Membership is NOT transferable.
Membership is based on a year subscription and Validity of Membership will hold a current fully paid subscription. (Be advised GST is not charged)
